Kathryn C. Winans, 75 of Kendallville and formerly of Garrett, died on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. She was born November 27, 1934 in Mishawaka to Charles and Clara (Spencer) Roebuck. She was a homemaker and an avid bridge player. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville. She is survived by two sons and a daughter in-law; Charles and Melody Winans of Fremont and Christopher Winans of Tampa, FL; 3 daughters and son in-laws, Elise and Frank Caprino of Auburn, Renee and Jacob Snook of Ashley and Aimee Winans of Port Orange, FL; sisters, Jean Wawrzyniak of Nashville, IN and Joann Slott of South Bend, IN and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and William Roebuck, a sister, Mary Ellen McNerny and a granddaughter. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, with calling 1 hour prior to mass at the church. Fr. Andrew Nazareth will officiate. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Additional calling will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or Friends of the Noble County Library.
