Kay Louise Bugert age 82 of LaOtto, IN passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Kay was born August 5, 1943 in Garrett, IN to Oscar Lee and Leah M. (Smith) Johnson and they preceded her in death. She married Robert M. Bugert on August 29, 1964 in Churubusco, IN and he passed way February 5, 2011.

Kay is survived by her 3 daughters: Roberta M. (Larry) Adams, LaOtto, IN; Melanie L. (Scott) Mock, Tallahassee, FL; Linda R. Bugert, LaOtto, IN; son: Charles E.  (Cynthia)Bugert, Ft. Wayne, IN; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband: Robert M. "Bob" Bugert, parents: Oscar Lee and Leah M. Johnson, 4 brothers: Ken Johnson, Fay A. Johnson, Larry L. Johnson, and Rex A. Johnson.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN.
