Rev. Kenneth T. Hawkins age 88 of Garrett, IN died Friday, October 16, 2009 at Lutheran Life Villages - Kendallville, IN. He was born March 2, 1921 in Monroeville, IN to LeRoy and Dove Mable (Sprague) Hawkins and they preceded him in death. He married Betty M. Agler on December 13, 1941 in Berne, IN. He was the minister at 7 different churches in northeast Indiana for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene - Auburn and was a WW II Army Veteran. Survivors include: Wife - Betty M. Hawkins, Garrett, IN Daughter - Jean and Milan Howard, Garrett, IN Son - Kenneth Douglas and Lee Ann Hawkins, Highland, CA 5 Grandchildren 5 Great Grandchildren Brother - David Hawkins, Indianapolis, IN Sister - Mary Alice Bauman, Fort Wayne, IN Sister - Mazetta Metcalf, Monroe, IN Sister - Vera Sudduth, Decatur, IN Preceded in death by: Parents - LeRoy and Dove Mable Hawkins Brothers - Alvin, Dale and George Hawkins Sister - Dorothy DeArmond A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Marion National Cemetery - Marion, IN with the U.S. Army presenting military honors. Officiating will be Rev. Dan White. There will be no calling. Memorials are to the Church of the Nazarene - Auburn Building Fund.
