Kenneth Richard Koenig, 80, died on June 11, 2014, at Grey Stone Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. Born Nov. 29, 1933, in Fort Wayne, to Harry and Hilda (Kammeier) Koenig, who preceded him in death, he was a lifelong learner who enjoyed painting, photography, sailing, camping and classical music. He was a professional photographer and graphic artist. Ken served in the Navy from 1955-57 as an air traffic controller on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific. On August 24, 1965, Ken married Janice M. Cutter, who preceded him in death. Surviving are his sons, Stephen R. (Kristin Lion) Koenig of Chicago, John K. (Marcie) Koenig of Fort Wayne and Kevin H. Koenig of Indianapolis; daughter Susan M. (Bill) Webb of Mineral Point, Wis.; brothers, Jim Koenig of Upland, Calif., Jack (Janice) Koenig of Fort Wayne and four grandchildren. A memorial service was held Friday, June 13, 2014, at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Memorials are to Parkview Home Health and Hospice, to which the family offers their gratitude for their compassionate care.
