Kermit "Gene" Eugene Farrington Jr. age 72 of Garrett, IN died at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Hickory Creek at Kendallville, IN. He was born February 26,1937 in DeKalb County, IN to Kermit E. Farrington Sr. and Margrete (Kaellner) Farrington. He married Joyce Ann Smith on December 12, 2003 in Auburn, IN. Gene was a heavy equipment operator in Indiana, Michigan and Texas from 1955-1980. He was a truck driver for the movie industry in California f5om 1980-2001, when he retired and returned to Garrett. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garrett. Survivors include: Wife - Joyce Ann Farrington, Garrett, IN Brother - Tom Farrington, Garrett, IN Sister - Margaret Farrington, Garrett, IN Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. David Mix officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett. Memorials are to the First Baptist Church - Garrett, Alzheimer's Research or Hickory Creek at Kendallville.
