Laura B. "Aunt Lolly" Shilling age 89 of Garrett, IN and formerly of Big Long Lake, South Milford, IN died Monday , February 29, 2016 at Parkview Hospital - Fort Wayne, IN. She was born August 3, 1926 in Chesapeake, OH to James William and Rosie (Sawyers) Smith and they preceded her in death. She married Lynn L. Shilling on November 3, 1944 in Myrtle Beach, SC., and he died in 2012. Laura was a homemaker and had worked for 15 years in the 1950's and 60's at Sears. She was a member of the Red Hat Society - Garrett, IN. Laura is survived by her daughter: Diana Thrush, Garrett, IN and a sister: Nova Byrd, Huntington, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents: James William and Rosie Smith; husband: Lynn L. Shilling, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home with Deacon Richard Shilling officiating.
