Leif Smedberg of Auburn, Indiana July 25, 1949 - April 20, 2016 Leif Smedberg age 66 of Auburn, IN died Wednesday, April 20, 2016. He was born July 25, 1949 in Passaic, NJ to Carl E. and Annie C. (Clark) Smedberg and they preceded him in death. Leif married Carrie Hatton on June 29, 2001 in Auburn, IN. Leif was a test engineer at Ultra Electronics – Columbia City, IN, retiring in 2011. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and member of the Countyline Church of God. Leif is survived by his wife: Carrie Smedberg, Auburn, IN; daughter: Danielle (David) Franke, Fort Wayne, IN; step son: Bryan (Andrea) Lanning, Garrett, IN; step daughter: Marissa (Daniel) Ebey, Albion, IN; 2 brothers: Eric (Linda) Smedberg, Fort Wayne, IN and Reed (Mary Jo) Smedberg, Fort Wayne, IN and a grandson: Beau Ebey, Albion, IN. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN. Services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home with Steve Schlatter from Countyline Church of God officiating.
