Lester J. Galloway age 85 died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Provena Sacred Heart Home - Avilla, IN. He was born August 8, 1927 in Cromwell, IN to Harvey H. and Berniece (McFarren) Galloway and they preceded him in death. He married Louise O. Vance on January 9, 1953 in Warsaw, IN and she died December 29, 2003. Lester was in signal communication on the CSX railroad in the Western Region for 40 years retiring in 1988. He and Louise moved to Tavares, FL for 15 years before returning to the area in 2003. He was a WW II veteran. He was member of the F&AM, Shriner's, and the Ligonier American Legion. Lester is survived by a son: Michael (Lynn) Jacobs, Garrett, IN and a daughter in-law: Dana Galloway, Quincy, CA. He is survived by his grandchildren: Shane (Julie) Jacobs, Garrett, IN; Chad (Courtney) Jacobs, Leo, IN; Courtney (Mike) Beerens, Ft. Wayne, IN; Brittney (John) DeKoninck, Ft. Wayne, IN; Chyanne Galloway, Cheyla Galloway and Chalise Galloway, all of Quincy, CA. He is survived by great grandchildren: Ashlee Jacobs and Blake Jacobs, Leo, IN; Brooklyn Jacobs and Hailey Jacobs, Garrett, IN and Abigail DeKoninck and Logan DeKoninck, Ft. Wayne, IN. Also surviving are a brother and a sister: Lowell Galloway, Kendallville, IN and Rosanne Lackey, Jacksonville, FL and a brother in-law: Charles Buell, Warsaw, IN. Lester was preceded in death by his wife: Louise O. Galloway; parents: Harvey H. and Berniece Galloway; a son: Kenneth Galloway; 2 brothers: Louis Galloway and Leonard Galloway; and 2 sisters: Marvel Buell and Eugenia Baugher. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Provena Sacred Heart Home - Avilla, IN with Tom Novy officiating. There will be calling at Provena Sacred Heart Home from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery - Kimmel, IN Memorials are to the Garrett Fire Department or Provena Sacred Heart Home - St. Francis Unit.
