Lewis O. McAllister, 65, of Garrett, IN and formerly of Kinderhook, MI died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Hickory Creek at Kendallville Nursing Home. He was born on October 5, 1942 in Jackson, MI to Orum and Vida (Brooks) McAllister, they preceded him in death. He had been a Garrett, IN resident for the past 17 years. He married Monica A. Pastor on April 14, 1995 in Angola, IN. Lewis was a Army Medic during the Vietnam War. He had worked as a Trimmer at Citation in Butler, IN until his retirement on March 15, 2005. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 2-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, with the funeral at 7 p.m. Tom Novy will officiate. A military committal service will be conducted by the Garrett American Legion and VFW. Burial will take place in Knauss Cemetery in Kinderhook, MI at a later date.
