Lloyd J.C. Gael age 84 of Garrett, IN died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at his home. He was born May 16, 1924 in Garrett, IN to August Carl and Myrtle E. (Weldon) Gael. He was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran, serving as an "A" gunner engineer. He was a process engineer at Borg-Warner in Auburn, IN for 38 years, retiring in 1979. He married Alice L. Mueller on June 30, 1973 in South Milford, IN. Lloyd was a lifetime Garrett resident, wintering in Ruskin, FL. He was a member of the Garrett VFW. There will be a calling in of friends and family at Thomas Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Ralph Diehl with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn, IN; with a graveside military service by the Garrett American Legion and VFW. Memorials may be directed to the Community Harvest Food Bank in Fort Wayne, IN. Lloyd is survived by a son, John C. and Jennifer Gael of Auburn, IN and 3 daughters, Judi Winchester of Warsaw, IN; Karen and Bill Howard of Albion, IN and Mary and Ron Culbertson of Auburn, IN. Also surviving is a step daughter, Virginia Mueller of Sherwood, MI and 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Oliver Lovette, sisters Helen Weldon and Madeline Dose and a step grandchild.
