Lois A. Shoener, 88, of Auburn, IN and formerly of Garrett, IN died on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on March 10, 1920 in Noble County to Frank E. and Viola E. (Richards) Lehner, they preceded her in death. She married Arthur C. Shoener on November 14, 1942 in Kendallville, IN and he died on December 10, 1975. She lived in Garrett for 58 years before moving to Auburn in 2004. Lois was an Admissions Assistant at IPFW for 14 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church and past President of the United Methodist Women. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, with Dr. Scott Shoaff officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery. Memorials are to the Garrett United Methodist Church.
