Mabel I. Magnuson, age 94, of Garrett, IN, died on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. She was born January 19, 1920 in Fort Wayne to the late Elmer C. and Della A. (Bailey) Redding. She married Harold E. Magnuson on August 7, 1948 in Avilla and he died January 12, 1987. She was a member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church. Mabel is survived by her nieces and nephews: Larry (Nancy) Redding, Ft. Wayne, IN; Julie (Marty) Nissen, Kingston, IL; Dave (Jeanne) Magnuson, Edon, OH and Ryad (Pricilla) Kahale, Milton, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold E. Magnuson, Parents: Elmer and Della Redding, 2 brothers: Carl and Kenneth Redding and 2 sisters: Helen Redding and Janet Kahale A service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN 46738 with Rev. William Haworth officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Union Town Cemetery - Zanesville, IN.
