Mae J. (Hathaway) McDannold, age 66 of Fort Wayne, IN died at 11 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1942 in Garrett, IN to Elmer P. and Laurine B. (Dowend) Hathaway. She married Roger D. McDannold on January 1, 1979 in Garrett, IN. Mae worked as a nurses aide and computer operator most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garrett, IN. She is survived by her husband, Roger D. McDannold of Fort Wayne, IN; 4 brothers, Eston Hathaway of Indianapolis, IN; Clifton Hathaway of Fort Wayne, IN; DeWayne "Bud" Hathaway of Garrett, IN and Eugene "George" Hathaway of South Whitley, IN. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Faith Galligher of Angola, IN; Janet Scheurich of Garrett, IN and Cindy Myers of Garrett, IN. Mae was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Hathaway and a sister LaCleeda Maurer. A calling in of friends and family will take place from 3 - 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home in Garrett, IN; with a memorial service taking place at 5 p.m. officiated by Dr. Scott Shoaff. Memorials may be given to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
