Maria G. Placencia, age 86 of Garrett, IN died at 2:58 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett. Mrs. Placencia was born May 24, 1922 in Austin, TX to Catarino and Geronima (Robledo) Garcia and they preceded her in death. She was a Garrett resident since 1955 and worked in assembly at Garrett Flexible for 10 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Rosary Society in Garrett. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to St. Martin's Soup Kitchen, St. Joseph Catholic Church or Masses.
