Marian M Seim, 88, of Skinner Lake died August 14, 2017 in Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, IN.

She was born October 3, 1928 in Enfield, CT to Dana King and Thomasine McCloy (Rook) Miller.

Marian was a graduate of the New England Deaconess Hospital for Nursing. She also earned an Associate degree in education. Her primary role in life was raising her eight children. She was a member of St Matthew Presbyterian Church in Silver Spring, MD. Marian was also very passionate and involved with DAR and Colonial Dames; holding a variety of offices. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and gardening.

Surviving is her brother Mike (Sue) Miller, St. Marco Island, FL and also her sons; Dana J. (Elisa) Thibeau, Gaithersburg, MD and Patrick (Deborah) Thibeau, Lanham, MD. Marian's daughters; Marian (Nancy) Thibeau, Albion, IN; Pauline (Ken) Cook, Laurel, MD; Susan Thibeau, Burns, TN; Mary (Tom) Gurlacz, Upper Marlboro, MD; and Claire (Richard) Sites, Jupiter, FL. In addition are her seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold Smith and their two sons Dana K. Smith and Wayne S. Smith. Also preceding her in death was her second husband; Patrick A. Thibeau and husband Lowell E. Seim.

Funeral arrangements by Nichols Funeral Home in Wilmington, Mass and locally through Thomas Funeral Home in Garrett, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6 – 7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN with a service following at 7 p.m. with Beverly Harkey officiating.

Visitation and funeral services with Rev. David Smith officiating will be held in Wilmington, Mass at Nichols funeral home at a date and time to be determined.

Preferred memorials are to Fort Wayne Visiting Nurse and Hospice or the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation.
