Marie G. "Mickey" Brindle, age 89 of Garrett, IN; died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett. She was born December 28, 1919 in South Bend, IN to Frank and Ester (Schrader) Grunawalt. Marie was a meat packer at Eckrich from 1953-1977. She married Earl Brindle October 4, 1975 and he died January 2, 1987. She was a member of the Garrett American Legion Auxiliary and Red Hat Society. Marie is survived by a daughter, Sandra Guinn of Auburn, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons - Thomas E. and Steven A. Gradeless, brother - Otis Grunawalt, half-brother - Charles Haven and half-sister Beatrice Haven Lemon. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home in Garrett with Pastor Jeffrey Horn officiating. Burial will follow in Huntertown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
