Marie Nolan, 78 of Garrett died on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born November 15, 1931 in College Corner, IN to Grant and Ola (Poynter) Harmon. She was a press operator at Mossberg Hubbard in Garrett until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by two sons and a daughter in-law; Larry and Jeanne Nolan of Churubusco and Dan Nolan of Garrett; 5 daughters and son in-laws; Marilyn Nolan and David Nelson of Fort Wayne, Kay Nolan of Indianapolis, Shirley Nolan-Fraze of Mishawaka, Norma and Kyle McLeod of Columbus and Barbara and John Richie of Kendallville. Also surviving is her companion, Joe DeWitt of Garrett; a brother, Glenn Harmon of Anderson; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell H. Nolan, brothers, William and Arthur Harmon and a sister, Retha Ray. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to the Auburn Church of the Nazarene.
