Marie Picklesimer age 78 of Garrett, IN died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, IN. She was born November 14, 1934 in Hazard, KY to James and Pliney (Gross) McIntosh. She married Jesse F. Picklesimer on June 18, 1955 in Washington, IN and he died February 21, 1999. She was a cook at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett, In for 15 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Garrett, IN. Marie is survived by a son: Youvat Lee Picklesimer, New Haven, IN; 2 grandsons and 3 great grandchildren; a brother: Sam McIntosh, Austin, IN and 3 sisters: Virginia Jones, St. Paul, IN; Clara Marcum, Austin, IN and Polly Growencock, CA. Marie was preceded in death by her parents: James and Pliney McIntosh; her husband: Jesse F. Picklesimer. Visitation is from Noon - 2 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the Nazarene Church in Garrett with services at 2 p.m. with Pastor Kyle Lowry officiating. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2013 at Vernon Cemetery - Vernon, IN.
