Marion D. "Toots" Hunter age 94 died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Garrett, IN. He was born April 27, 1918 in Ossian, IN to the late Roe and Linna (Meeks) Hunter. He married Marian F. "Susie" Crabill on April 13, 1944 and she died October 1, 2012. Marion was a purchasing agent at Hower Tool in Ossian, retiring in 1983. He was an Army veteran, serving in WWII where he was a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by a son and two daughters in-law; Alan and Carol Hunter of Garrett and Sandy Hunter of Ft. Wayne; a brother, William Hunter of Ossian; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Hunter. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1 p.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery in Ossian. In lieu of flowers memorials are to the American Legion Post 296 in Ft. Wayne.
