Mark A. Deihl age 63 of Avilla, IN went to be with his heavenly Lord on Monday, April 27, 2026. Mark was born October 11, 1962 in Kendallville, IN to Harold C. and Mary Jo (Mitchell) Deihl. Mark graduated from DeKalb High School in 1981. He was a customer service representative with Pitney-Bowes for 30 years, working on postal equipment.

Mark was a member of the Christian Union Brethren in Christ Church – Garrett, IN; where he served as organist and prior chairman of the church board and its treasurer. Mark worked with the youth as a church quiz team coach and worked with DeKalb High School and DeKalb Middle School as a JAG mentor and academic bowl coach for 10 years.

Mark is survived by his mother: Mary Jo Deihl, Corunna, IN; sister: Elaine (Don) Plante, Colorado Springs, CO; niece: Kaitlyn Plante, Colorado Springs, CO.

Mark was preceded by his father: Harold C. Deihl in 2011.

Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN. and from Noon – 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the church.

Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Christian Union Brethren in Christ Church – Garrett, IN. with Pastor Ron Remke officiating.

Burial will take place in Christian Union Cemetery
