Marlene Kay Feick Gecowets age 74 of Angola, IN died at 11:46 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital - Angola, IN. She was born March 27, 1936 in Garrett, IN to Dale and Lucille (Mager) Feick and they preceded her in death. She was the head surgical nurse at DeKalb Memorial Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 2003. She married Robert E. Gecowets on October 24, 1986 in Auburn, IN and he survives in Angola, IN. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church - Auburn, IN Steuben County Habitat For Humanity, the Master Gardeners Association, Sweet Adeline's, Tri Kappa and was a proud member of the Class of 1954 at Garrett High School. Marlene is survived by her husband: Robert E. Gecowets, Angola, IN and 4 sons: Rick (Janeen) Getts, Auburn, IN; Roger (Pamela) Getts, Orland, IN; Ron (Kelly) Getts, Garrett, IN and Rob Getts, Fort Wayne, IN. She has 2 step daughters: Beth Davis, Hudson, IN and Lori Hutchins, Pleasant Lake, IN. She is also survived by 2 brothers: Dale "Hunk" (Darian) Feick, Angola, IN and Fred "Fritz" (Dorothy) Feick, Elkhart, IN. Marlene has 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN Memorials are to the Garrett Community Center
