Marma "Norma" Jean Rodebaugh -LaRowe age 91

Former longtime Garrett resident Norma J. LaRowe died on Christmas day in the home of her loving daughter Bunny Armstrong at Sarasota, FL.

Norma was born March 12, 1926 to Trevor and Alice Speer of Auburn, IN. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Dorsey Speer and Leland Speer. Her only sister: Doleen Fisher lives in Albion, IN.

Norma married Eugene Rodebaugh on December 9, 1942. They had 2 daughters: Mary Ellen Cochran, Auburn, IN and Helen "Bunny" Armstrong, Sarasota, FL. Eugene Rodebaugh died on March 19, 1977.

Norma later married Robert LaRowe on March 5, 1990. They enjoyed 8 years together before he died on July 2, 1998. Every Spring Norma would especially enjoy hunting mushrooms in the area, as well as her "secret places" in Michigan. One of her greatest joys was playing bingo. As a member of the Legion, she was well at the bingo hall and in addition to Penguin Point, and many of the areas bingo halls.

In 2010 Norma suffered a stroke and moved to Sarasota, FL to live closer to her daughter Bunny, during her rehabilitation. While missing Indiana Norma loved her new home at Tri Par Estates in Sarasota, FL. She was active in the Tri Par Women's Horseshoe Club, the bowling club as well as Fun and Sports Aqua bells. Norma loved playing the "claw game" her favorite restaurant during her time she won over 400 stuffed animal toys, which will be donated to a local children's charity in her name. Every week Norma would be seen driving her hot rod golf cart to the club house for bingo. She was loved by all that met and knew her. Norma leaves behind a sister, 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Christian Union Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018.
