She was born September 19, 1919 in Garrett, IN to Charles Marion and Ethel M. (Dinger) Lewis. She married Richard "Dick" Murley on October 13, 1940 in Garrett, IN and he died March 30, 2009. She was a homemaker and worked part-time for the township assessor She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Garret Alumni Association and the Garrett Historical Society. Marvene is survived by 2 sons: Richard L. "Dick" (Mary Ann) Murley, Garrett, IN and Bill (Patricia) Murley, Pleasant Lake, IN. a brother: Charles L. "Chuck" (Tommy Lou) Lewis, Garrett, IN and a sister: Carolyn McClure, Garrett, IN.; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Marvene was preceded in death by her husband: Richard "Dick" Murley; parents: Charles Marion and Ethel M. Lewis; brother: Nolan Lewis and sister: Wanda Smead Visitation will take place from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN. Services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home with Jerry Weller officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery - Garrett, IN.
