Mary E. Barcus age 87 of Avilla, IN and formerly of Garrett died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at DeKalb Health - Auburn, IN. Mary was born December 10, 1928 in Noble County to Perry A. and Zelma A. (Bowen) Weeks and they preceded her in death. Mary married Wayne Barcus on May 24, 1947 in Albion, IN and he died December 25, 1988. She later married John Grama on June 24, 1995 in Auburn, IN and he died July 27, 2007. Mary was an LPN at St. Joseph Medical Center for 14 years, retiring in 1995. Mary was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church - Albion, IN and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mary is survived by 2 sons: Michael (Susan) Barcus, GA and Mark (Nancy) Barcus, NC; son in-law: Craig Gilliland, CA; 4 grandchildren: Kristin (VA); Kira (GA); Matthew (NC); Sarah (NC) and 3 great grandchildren: Nora, Levi, and Lila Mary was preceded in death by her daughter: Cathy Gilliland; 4 sisters: Madeline Todd, Evelyn M. Dressler, M. Alverdia Young and L. Welcome Van Aman. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN Eastern Star services will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, IN with Pastor Phyllis Smoot officiating.
