Mary Catherine Dembickie, 83, of Garrett, IN died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, IN. Mary was born on June 4, 1924 in Garrett, IN to Edmund J. and Hilaria (Vanderbosch) Mezydlo. She married William T. Dembickie on September 12, 1946 in Garrett and he died on January 31, 2000. She worked in the school cafateria at the Garrett schools from 1965 to 1975 and then worked as a clerk at the Boston Store in Garrett for 2 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Harvest House, Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, Provena Sacred Heart Home Auxillary and the Garrett American Legion Auxillary. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home. A rosary service will take place at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Chruch in Garrett, IN. Fr. Andrew Nazareth will officiate. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett, IN.
