Mary L. Hammer, 69, of Garrett and formerly of Port Huron, MI; died on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett. She was born January 31, 1942 in Port Huron, MI to Joseph and Donna (Parrow) Foster. She married Myrle L. Hammer on November 18, 1958 in Port Huron and he survives in Garrett. Mary had been a Dietary Manager. She is also survived by her mother, Donna Foster of St. Helen, MI; daughter, Charlene (Randy) Bergdoll of Garrett; son, Myrle Jr. (Tracy) Hammer of St. Helen, MI; son, Leo Hammer of Garrett; daughter, Kimberley (Dewayne) Ward of Sulfur, OK; son, Rodney (Linda) Hammer of St. Helen, MI; brothers, Joseph Foster Jr. of St. Helen, MI and James Foster of Port Huron, MI; sister, Joann Mallorey of Port Huron, MI; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Carol Coffee. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Garrett.
