Mary E. Maxwell, age 86 died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the Laurel's of Dekalb in Butler, IN. She was born February 19, 1922 in Garrett, IN to Milton and Emma J. (Fellers) Hathaway. She married Ellis Maxwell on March 2, 1941 in Auburn, IN and he died February 14, 1992. Mary was a homemaker and a former Garrett, IN resident. Mary is survived by her granddaughter, Tonya Maxwell of Berwyn, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, son and daughter in-law, Dan and Chong Hui Maxwell; her parents, 6 brothers, Roy, Claude, Oral, Dale, Paul and Merle Hathaway and 2 sisters, Blanche Stafford and Wilma Gilbert. There will be no visitation or services. Memorials are to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
