Matthew R. O'Connor age 34, of Auburn, IN. died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born January 28, 1975 in Fort Wayne to Thomas and Patricia (Rosswurm) O'Connor Sr., they survive in Auburn. He graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1993. He married Lisa S. Hall on March 30, 1996, she survives in Auburn. He was a pipe-fitter and welder out of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 166. He was a member of St. Vincent depaul Catholic Church and an Executive Board Member of the local 166. Matthew was a loving and devoted husband and father, who enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family. He is also survived by his daughter, Olivia (12) and his son, Evan (7). His brothers, Thomas and Tabatha O'Connor Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; Jason and Michele O'Connor of Grand Junction, CO; Adam and Tonya O'Connor of Fort Wayne, IN and William and Jenny O'Connor of Garrett, IN. His sister, Emily and Edward Gowgiel Sr. of Auburn, IN. His grandmother, Muriel Rosswurm of New Haven, IN and grandparents, John and Rita O'Connor of Fort Wayne also 13 Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Monica O'Connor and grandfather Harold Rosswurm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, with Fr. Andrew Nazareth officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Garrett. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13 from 1-5 and 6-9 p.m. with a Rosary service to start at 6 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Memorials are to a Education Fund for his children in care of Lisa O'Connor.
