Max G. Houser age 75 of LaOtto, IN died July 4, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center – Ft. Wayne, IN. Max was born January 20, 1942 in Garrett , IN to Carl E. "Dutch" and Harriett E. (Moudy) Houser and they preceded him in death. He married Carolyn L. French on August 3, 1985 in LaOtto, IN and she survives in LaOtto.

Max was a self -employed truck driver for 57 years, retiring in 2013. He was a veteran of the Army Reserves.

Max was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church – LaOtto, IN, Federal Trucking Association, Tractor Pulling Association, LaOtto Community Association, and OOIDA (Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association).

Max is survived by his wife: Carolyn L. Houser, LaOtto, IN; daughters: Guenn (Dave) Stevenson, Pompano Beach, FL; Deb (Seth) Somlinske, Kendallville, IN; Dawn (Marty) Bradshaw, Lombard, IL; Michele (Ryan) Plummer, Muncie, IN; Step son: Kurt McClellan, St. Louis, MO; step daughters: Kim (Mike) Jones, Ft. Wayne, IN; Kris (Jeff Riffe) France, Ocala, FL; 17 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; and sister: Karen (Ray) Parker, LaOtto, IN. Max was preceded in death by his sister: Carol Houser

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Thomas Funeral Home – 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN

Services will take place at 12: 30 p.m. Friday at Thomas Funeral Home with Chaplain Marilyn Gross officiating.
