Dr. Max Cleveland Milks PhD. age 64 of Garrett, IN died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at VA medical Center - Marion, IN. He was born January 25, 1947 in Garrett, IN to Max and Ethel (Palmer) Milks. He had a Doctorate in Clinical Philosophy from Westbrook University... He was an addictions counselor and a former Garrett and DeKalb County police officer. He was an U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of the Garrett American Legion Post #178. He is survived by 2 daughters: Stephanie (Chad) Werkheiser and Catina (Dave) LaMotte both of Garrett, IN. He is also survived by 2 sons: Christopher Milks, Columbus, OH; Leon Lovett, Theodore, AL. and 6 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home with Brother Bud Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery - Garrett, IN.
