Melvin L. "Pete" Treesh, age 77 of Garrett, died on Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Columbus, IN. He was born March 21, 1933 in Garrett to Walter C. and Mabel (McKinley) Treesh. He married Carol J. Dye on August 6, 1955 in Auburn and she survives in Garrett. He was a Journeyman at Auburn Gear for 42 years before retiring in 1997. He was a veteran of the US Army. He is also survived 3 sons and daughters in-law, James and Nancy Treesh of Columbus, IN, Jeri and Janet Treesh of Pleasant Lake, IN and John Treesh of Kendallville, IN; 2 daughters, Katherine Burns of FL and Janis Krieg of Garrett; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Robert and Kenneth Treesh and 5 sisters, Eilene Stover, Annabell Basse, Helen Treesh, Florence Brown and Betty Shilling. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 910 N. Indiana Ave., Auburn, IN, with Rev. Walter Coy officiating. Memorials are to the First Christian Church in Auburn or to the family.
