Michael L. Summers, age 65 of Auburn and formerly of Garrett, died on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born February 2, 1944 in Garrett to Frank and Virginia (Royer) Summers, they preceded him in death. He married Cathy I. Strouse July 28, 1970 and she died May 16, 2002. He worked as a shipping clerk at Zollners Piston for 39 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Garrett American Legion. He is survived by a daughter, Nicole Summers of Auburn; a son and daughter in-law, Jeffery and Nicole Summers of Kendallville; a sister, Pat Bender of Albion and 5 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Auburn at 10 a.m. with Fr. Babasino Fernandes officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Thomas Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Memorials are to Donor's choice.
