Michael Oran Warstler age 81 of Auburn, IN and formerly of Garrett passed away on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 at Ft Wayne Parkview Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born July 8, 1943 in Garrett, IN to Charles W. and Elsie M. (Wilhelm) Warstler. Mike graduated from Garrett High School in 1961. Mike married his beloved wife Rebecca "Becky" Grueb on June 2, 1992.
Mike was a highly successful route salesman for Pepsi for 35 years and retired in 2006. He was an adored Coach for the Garrett Little League for over 20 years, a Boy Scout leader at the Garrett United Methodist Church for over 10 years, and a proud member of the Garrett Eagles.
Mike was known as a man who loved and supported his family and friends, had a great sense of humor, a strong work ethic, and set a successful life path for all to follow. Mike had a passion for fishing (always catching the largest and most!), coaching baseball, playing cards and games, hunting (deer and rabbits), and spending time with his large extended family.
Michael is survived by his wife: Rebecca "Becky" Warstler, Auburn, IN; daughter: Rachel L. (David) Inmon, San Diego, CA; 3 sons: Todd (DeDe) Warstler, Lake Keowee, SC; Matt (Mitzi) Warstler, Fayetteville, GA; Andrew (Ashley) Warstler, Houston, TX; the mother of his 4 children: Cynthia Warstler, Auburn, IN; step-children: James Knapp, Hamilton, IN; Kristina Berry, Hamilton, IN; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and brother: Clarence Warstler, Garrett, IN
Michael was preceded in death by his parents: Charles W. and Elsie M. Warstler; brother: Larry Warstler; sister: Charlotte Whetsell.
Visitation will take place from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN.
