Mildred C. Simon, age 96 of Garrett, died on Friday, June 21, 2013 at DeKalb Health in Auburn. She was born January 19, 1917 in Geneva, IN to the late Christian and Rosina (Whittwer) Neukom. She married John A. "Yippy" Simon in January of 1939 and he died in February of 1976. She was a house keeper and also worked at Yipps Sporting Goods in Garrett. She is survived by a son, Andy Simon of Garrett and two daughters, Cathy (Les) DePew of Garrett and JoHanna (Lynn) Andrews of Colville, WA; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Garrett. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to the First Church of Christ in Garrett.
