Mona G. Porter, age 90 of Garrett, died on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn. She was born March 5, 1921 in Sydney, Australia to Eric V. and Gladys (Witchard) Scott. She married Eugene William Porter on February 5, 1944 in Sydney, Australia and he died on March 8, 1995. Mona is survived by two sons and daughters in-law, Merv and Jeanne Porter of Huntertown and Joe and Kathleen Porter of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Jeannie Allomong of Bryan, OH; a sister, Betty Sciberras of Sydney, Australia; four granddaughters, Jenna (Chris) Porter-Jacek of Greeneville, TN, Megan (Fernando) Llamas of Fort Wayne, Jessica Porter of Fort Wayne and Elizabeth Porter of Huntertown; a great granddaughter, Delia Llamas of Fort Wayne and two great grandchildren on the way. In addition to her parents and husband, Mona was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald and Mervyn Scott. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56 with burial to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are to DeKalb Home Health and Hospice
