Obituary

Nancy L. Weimer age 86 of Garrett, IN went to join her husband in heaven on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Miller’s Merry Manor – Garrett, IN. Nancy was born March 19, 1940 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Floyd E. and Annabelle (Uhrick) Ely. She married Ronald E. Weimer on August 25, 1962 in Garrett, IN and he passed away on May 2, 2009. Nancy was a service Representative for GTE for 20 years, retiring in 1997.

Nancy was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church – Garrett, IN., and the Red Hat Society and was an honorary member of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority.

The family would like to thank Miller’s Merry Manor and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care that Nancy was given.

Nancy is survived by 3 sons: David W. (Pam) Weimer, Ft. Wayne, IN; Danny E. (Barbara) Weimer, Garrett, IN; Dean R. Weimer, Garrett, IN; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brother: Don J. Clark, Fremont, IN.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband: Ronald E. Weimer; son: Dennis Lee Weimer; parents: Floyd E. Ely and Annabelle Clark; brother: Thomas L. Ely; sisters: Sandra Carpenter and Cindy Mertz.

Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56,Garrett,IN. and from 10 – 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church – Garrett, IN.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church – Garrett, IN with Rev. Keaton Christiansen officiating.

Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery – Garrett, IN
