Odessie A. Shultz, 89 of Garrett, IN; died on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn, IN. She was born February 13, 1920 in Crawfton, MI to Franklin and Hazel (Snyder) Reinoehl. She married Henry Alva Shultz February 25, 1939 and he died November 26, 1967. Odessie worked at Electric Motors in Garrett and at Essex Wire in Ligonier before retiring in 1982. She also was a caregiver for many people. She was a member of the Garrett Nazarene Church of over 50 years. She is survived by her daughters. Barbara High and Brenda Cook of Garrett; her sons, Rick and Patty Shultz of Garrett and Keith and Mary Shultz of Churubusco; a sister, Blanchie Shultz of Huntertown, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son - Robert A. Shultz, brothers- Floyd and Esta Reinoehl, sisters- Beatrice Herron, Annie Reinoehl, Bertha Reinoehl and Lucille Banks, 1 grandson and 1 great grandson. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kent Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Eel River Cemetery. Memorials are to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
