Patricia J. Gilliland, 81 of Garrett, IN, died on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at St. John's Hospital in Anderson, IN. She was born on January 3, 1926 in Kendallville, IN to Robert A. and Gladys M. (Turney) Whitford. She was a lifetime Garrett, IN resident. She worked in Collections at the Garrett City Hall for 11 years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garrett, IN; Tri-Kappa Sorority and she was the Director of the Miss Garrett Pageant from 1968 until 2003. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 2 pm in Thomas Funeral Home, with calling 1 hour prior, Pastor Arthur Ferry will officiate. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Kendallville, IN. Memorials are to the First Baptist Church in Garrett, IN.
