Paula Jean (Frieden) Giegold age 71 left this world to meet her Lord and Savior at Astral of Auburn on Monday, May 27, 2024. Paula was born in Wabash, IN to the late Paul and Elvadene (Younce) Frieden on September 16, 1952, on her mother's birthday. She grew up on the farm south of North Manchester, IN., and graduated from Manchester High School in 1970. In the fall of 1971 Paula married Andrew Giegold. He survives in rural Garrett. They spent the next four years as students at Purdue University, graduating in 1974.

Paula was a medical Technologist with a specialty in Immunology, working for Parkview Health Systems for 40 years. She loved her work and the good it did for so many people. She loved her Parkview family. Paula was fascinated with the genealogy of her family; she spent countless hours in the Allen County Library chronicling the movement of her ancestors from Europe to settlement in the U.S.

With the birth of her sons, Paula became a super mom, working, managing the household and attending the boys many sporting events. She always created a celebration marking the milestones in the boy's lives. Her sons were her world.

Paula loved attending church at the First Church of Christ in Garrett where she was a member. She was also a member of the Indiana Genealogy Society.

Paula is survived by her husband; sons: Ames (Sarah) Giegold, Manila, IN.; Alec Warren Giegold, LaOtto, IN; 2 grandsons: Alex and Austin Giegold, Manila, IN; sister: Peggy (Allen) Selleck, North Manchester, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Paula leaves behind a loving and caring staff family at Astral of Auburn, that made these last month's pleasant and warm for her. She will be missed by family and friends.

Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home with Brother Bud Owen officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery – Garrett, IN.
