Pearl E. "Peg" Ellert, 85 of Auburn, IN died on Monday, October 12, 2009 at DeKalb Memorial Hospital. She was born October 2, 1924 in Garrett, IN to William and Velma (Miller) Geiser. She married Carl A. Ellert on April 19, 1947 in Auburn, IN. Peg was a homemaker and a member of the DeKalb County Home Demonstration Club and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn. She is survived by her husband, Carl A. Ellert of Auburn and 4 daughters, Karen and Bruce LaVasseur of Evergreen, CO; Toni Garvin of Fremont, IN; Lisa Sproat of Garrett and Renee and Doug Harp of Kendallville, IN. 2 sons also survive, Larry and Valerie Ellert of Virginia and Mark Ellert of Fort Wayne, IN. Peg has 6 granddaughters, Jennifer Greenman of New Haven, IN; Jamie Sproat of Avilla, IN; Brittney Ellert of Tallahassee, FL; Nikki LeVasseur of Evergreen, CO; Abby Harp of Kendallville and Kristen Garvin of Fremont. She also has 5 grandsons, Joel Ellert of Fort Wayne; Brandon Ellert of Chicago, IL; Andrew Harp of Kendallville; Dan Garvin of Fremont and Jared Sproat of Garrett. 2 great grandchildren, Shayla Greenman of New Haven and Braden Ellert of Fort Wayne and 2 step grandchildren, Ryan Kish of Virginia and Marlo Kish of West Virginia and 2 step great grandchildren, Luc and Alexa Kish of Virginia also survive. Peg was preceded in death by her parents and brother- William Geiser Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn, IN with Fr. Derrick Sneyd officiating, burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15 at Thomas Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. and on Friday at 9 a.m. at the church. A rosary service will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
