Pearl M. Gerner, age 86, of Garrett, died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor in Garrett. She was born March 21, 1928 in Garrett to Karl M. and Hazel M. (Edward) Gerner and they preceded her in death. She was a senior accountant at Magnavox in Ft. Wayne for 31 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett, where she taught Sunday School for many years and the Professional Business Women in Garrett. She was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Gerner on August 22, 2013 Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the First Church of Christ in Garrett with a service at 7 p.m. with Brother Bud Owen officiating. Burial will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to the First Church of Christ Mission Department or DeKalb Humane Shelter.
