Peggy Ann (Sutton) Tarlton age 62 of Garrett, IN died Friday, June 29, 2019 at her home. Peggy was born April 30, 1957 in Kendallville, IN to Herbert K. and Mary E. (Geiger) Sutton. Peggy married Marion J. Tarlton Jr. on September 15, 1979 in Garrett, IN. Peggy was the office manager and book keeper for Tarlton Plumbing and Heating and was the book keeper at Serenity House.

In 2001 – Peggy was awarded the Barbara S. Oren Volunteer of the Year by the DeKalb County United Way. She was the co-chair for the United Way for the Garrett Campaign from 1999-2001. She was instrumental in the DeKalb County Day of Caring each year. She was active in Garrett Heritage Days, Junior Achievement, 4-H and a former member of Tri-Kappa Sorority, serving as a past president for the Garrett Merchant Association, Garrett Chamber of Commerce and the Garrett Lions Club.  Peggy selflessly and lovingly gave so much of herself for us.

Peggy is survived by her husband: Marion J. Tarlton Jr., Garrett, IN; son: Marion J. "Ty" Tarlton III, Garrett, IN; mother: Mary Sutton, Huntertown, IN; brother: Dennis Sutton, LaOtto, IN; 2 sisters: Vickie L. Nodine, Garrett, IN and Nancy J. Chittenden, Garrett, IN.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father: Herbert K. Sutton

Visitation will take place from 1-6 p.m. Friday. July 5, 2019 at the Judith A. Morrill Recreation Center, 1200 E. Houston St., Garrett, IN  46738

Services will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019 at the JAM Center with Pastor Linda Springstead officiating.

There will be a dinner served at the DeKalb County Horseman's Museum following the service.

Burial will take place at a later date in Cedar Creek Cemetery

Memorials are to Serenity House, 4-H Association, JAM Center, United Way of DeKalb County or to the donor's choice.
