Obituary

Raymond "Bud" A. Saxer, age 86, of Garrett, IN died on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born on December 11, 1920 in Garrett, IN to Walter and Mabel (Cashbaugh) Saxer. He married Marjorie D. Kelham on July 27, 1946 in Garrett. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a Home Decorator for many years and was the Coach of the DeKalb County Boxing Club from 1952 until 1989 where he coached 2008 boys. He also was elected Citizen of the Year in 1969. He was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church, the Garrett American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Thomas Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Christian Union Cemetery, with a Military Graveside Service by the Garrett American Legion and VFW. Memorials are to the DeKalb County Boxing Club. Survivors include: Wife - Marjorie D.
