Fort Wayne - Richard W. "Rick" Capin II, 63, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday March 19, 2018 in Garrett. He was born on August 18, 1954 in Fort Wayne to Richard W. "Dick" and Betty Jane (Mutton) Capin. A Garrett High School graduate, Rick loved cooking and shopping for antiques. He was a great fan of IU and the Cubs, along with Garrett High School sports. He was employed with Fort Wayne Metals. Survivors include his father, Dick Capin of Garrett, sisters, Nancy Feagler of Garrett, and Diane (Ken) Capin-Meloon of Orlando, FL. Also, surviving are nieces, Kristi (Grant) Surfus, Angie (Sammy) Hippensteel, and Mindy (Thomas) Bates, and nephew, Greg (Kelly) Meloon; and great nieces and nephews, Payton Hickman, Addi Hickman, Bryson Hickman, Ari Hippensteel, Braxton Meloon, Kendley Ann Meloon, Ella Bates, and Owen Bates. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jane Capin, who passed away in 1995. Funeral Service will be 11:00am on Monday March 26, 2018 at Garrett United Methodist Church, 110 W Houston St, Garrett, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 3:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday March 25, 2018 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 CR 56, Garrett. A private burial will be at Cedar Creek Cemetery, rural Garrett.
