Richard S. Simmons age 75 of Garrett, IN died at 1 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 at Hospice Home of Northeast IN. He was born October 3, 1933 in Millersburg, IN to Sherman and Eva (Miller) Simmons. He married Elsie L. Wagner on April 20, 1954 in Kendallville, IN. Richard worked in quality control at Auburn Gear for 29 years, retiring in 1990. He was an Army veteran in the post Korean period. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2008 at Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett, IN. Memorials are to the DeKalb County Cancer Society. Survivors include: Wife - Elsie L.
