Robert "Bob" Michael Bugert age 72 of LaOtto, IN died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Parkview Hospital - Ft. Wayne, IN. after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born January 7, 1939 in Ft. Wayne, IN to Edwin J. and Marcella P. (Nix) Bugert and they preceded him in death. Robert married Kay Louise Johnson on August 29, 1964 in Churubusco, IN and she survives. Robert was a construction electrician for 41 years, retiring from Service Electric in Ft. Wayne, IN in April 2000. He was a Navy veteran and member of the IBEW Local #305 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). He was an avid fan of West Virginia and enjoyed white water rafting and ATV riding in the mountains. Surviving is his wife: Kay Bugert, LaOtto, IN; 4 daughters: Roberta M. (Larry) Adams, LaOtto, IN; Melanie L. Sparkman, Garrett, IN; Linda R. (Jason) Buchs, Kendallville, IN; and Kathleen McCurdy, Dallas, TX. and a son: Charles E. Bugert, LaOtto, IN. Robert is also survived by 2 sisters: Sara E. Bohnke and Mary E. Beaverson, both of Ft. Wayne, IN and 2 brothers: Joseph A. Bugert, Indianapolis, IN and James E. Bugert, Ossian, IN. Robert has 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Thomas Funeral Home - Garrett, IN. There are no services planned. Memorials are to the American Cancer Society for research.
