Robert J. Duguid, 88 of Garrett, IN died at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home in Garrett, IN. He was born August 16, 1920 in Ray, IN to Paul and Mabel (Easler) Duguid, they preceded him in death. He was a 1939 graduate of Ashley High School. He married Martha J. Hill on November 10, 1947 in Garrett, IN and she died on December 31, 2004. Robert was an Engineer on the B&O Railroad for 41 years, retiring in 1982. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving in the Pacific and Atlantic aboard the DD 601 USS Chaplin. He was a member of the Garrett Presbyterian Church, VFW and American Legion. A military graveside service by the Garrett American Legion and VFW will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September, 18 2008 at Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett, IN.
