Robert Bowman Jr. age 79 of Garrett, IN died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center - Fort Wayne, IN. He was born July 16, 1935 in Auburn, IN to Robert Bowman Sr. and Ethel (Casselman) Bowman and they preceded him in death. He married Janet Malcolm I 1955 and she died in 1996. He then married Linda Garrett in 1997 and she survives in Garrett, IN. He worked in production at International Harvester for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Garrett Eagles. Robert is survived by his wife: Linda Bowman, Garrett, IN; 2 sons: Jerry (Sandy) Bowman, Carmel, IN and Terry (Tammy) Bowman, Garrett, IN; 2 step sons: Russell P. (Amy) Cook, New Albany, IN; Edwin J. (Tina) Cook Jr., Monticello, KY. A sister: Maxine Campbell, Auburn, IN; a brother: Arlo "Dub" Bowman, Auburn, IN. 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Bowman Sr. and Ethel Bowman; wife: Janet Bowman; son: Kent Bowman; 2 brothers: Wayne Bowman and Paul Bowman; 2 sisters: Dorothy Van and June Helmuth. A gathering in of friends and family will take place from 3-7 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, IN 46738.
