Rozella Mae Dembickie, 87 of Fort Wayne, IN and formerly of Garrett, IN; died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009 at Regency Place Nursing Home in Fort Wayne. She was born February 4, 1922 in Avilla, IN to James and Bertha (Betts) Owen. She married Joseph Dembickie on September 2, 1939 in Garrett and he died June 1, 1982. Rozella was an activities director at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn, IN for 20 years, retiring in 2002. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, Harvest House and the Garrett Eagles Auxiliary. Rozella is survived by her daughter, Barbara Walter of Fort Wayne, IN; 2 granddaughters, Kristina Walter of Fort Wayne and Andrea Fisher of Leo, IN; 6 great grandchildren and a sister, Sadie Grate of Ashley, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers - Russell and Harold Owen and a sister - Irene McPheeters. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, with a calling in of family and friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Officiating will be Fr. Jacob Gall. Burial will take place at a later date in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Memorials are to St. Martin's Soup Kitchen
