Ruth W. Griffin, 89 of Garrett, IN died on Monday, October 12, 2009 at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, IN. She was born January 19, 1920 in Auburn, IN to James F. and Alta A. (Gump) Wiley. She married James A. Griffin on October 21, 1937 in Garrett and he died on June 21, 2001. She had worked at Electric Motors and Bauman-Harnish in Garrett. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Garrett. Ruth is survived by her son, Paul Eugene and Maxine Griffin of Valreco, FL; daughters, Connie Jo and Kent Strong of Garrett and Karen Sue and Frank Davis of Indianapolis, IN. Also survivng is her brother, Howard Wiley of Garrett; 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers- Ray and Orville Wiley and sister- Martha O. Steiman. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, with Pastor Clare Jewell officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
